A really strong workhorse
I have had my Air-mate for almost 12 years. It was made by EMGLO and I have used it to finish out over 30 residential homes and eight commercial properties in the lower 48.
I looked at all kinds of compressors but I needed one that was portable, dependable, and could take the abuse of being moved around a job site and across country.
After due dilligence, I decided on this one.
I clean the air filter, check the oil now and again and it has never refused to preform.
It's a little hard to get started on really cold days, but aren't we all.
Truly, one of those tools that stand the test of time.

good little compressor
I bought a used rental unit from my job 4 1/2 years ago and it has been great. It will run an impact, die grinder, drill, cutoff tool and more. It does need time to recover so it will not efficiently run them continuous. It is great for inflating tires and other small jobs and is capable of other larger jobs. Overall the unit is over 11 years old and I have had to put a capacitor and power switch on it an no other problems. Good for the novice or the professional. Also is small enough to provide mobile air power which is a plus.
Great buy used. See my recomendation for pump parts.
I just bought a used AirMate two tank 4gal for $75.00 (it is the 1.5 HP, not the 1.1) and feel redeemed after spending $125.00 (to much money) on a used Dewalt/Emglo One 4-1/2gal tank unit that blows a little oil.
In comparing the two to each other, I see no difference in motor or compressors and the only difference is in the one or two tank configuration and one compared to two line hook ups. As stated on some reviews of the one tank version, it has problems with pressure valve adjusting (sticking or not working) as does the old unit I bought.
All in all, if I was to have a choice between the one or two tank versions new, I would buy the
two tank version hands down. I don't know what went wrong with the one tank configuration, but it could be the extra money they had to spend on dual hook ups; I just don't know, but this is the configuration that is supposed to be the hot shot go to construction compressor. NOT
Also, the cheapest place I could find for the pump...

Compressor is good, hoses and accessories are JUNK
Like the title states, the hose and all peripherals will need to be replaced the day you want to start using the compressor. They are made really cheaply and do not work like they should.

Good small purpose portable compressor
This has worked well as a small, portable compressor. It takes a while to charge the tank because it's a small pump. I've used it at work for blowing out VFD's. It's easy to carry on the truck. I don't expect it would be good for pumping up tires.
Do not waste your time
Returned immediately. Would not reach 100 psi. VERY small capacity. May pump up bicycle tires, but took 15 minutes to pump 1/2 ton pickup tire from 32 psi to 38 psi. I plugged in a 12v emergency bicycle compressor into the cigarette lighter and it pumped up the tire in 4 minutes.

Good Worker - one caution
I like this compressor; quiet, fast, efficient, solidly built. Good features: heavy duty wheel kit, dual connections, good gauges & controls. However, be aware that the drain is not set to drain water completely from the tank in either the vertical or horizontal positions. It needs to propped up at about 45 degrees to get all the condensation out. This is a critical design flaw as residual water in the tank is a big cause of tank failure. Buy the compressor but be sure you drain it well and often.

Wheels are a very good thing . . .
After my last cheapo compressor died in a horrible texturing accident (after five years of faithful service, may it rest in peace at the landfill), I felt like it was time for the real deal. Things that drove me to pick this model in particular:

- Wheels, beautiful wheels -- last one was a dual tank 70 pound behemoth. This compressor is heavier, but those wheels make life so much easier. Granted, I could've used a hand-truck before, but having it all integrated as a single unit is a huge bonus. Not looking forward to the first time I get to heave it into the truck, but for now, it gets around the shop just fine. The handle extends easily and quickly for smooth portability.

- 200 PSI, will I ever use it? Well, um, not likely. However, the more important numbers: 5.4 CFM at 90 PSI is pretty great. Opens up alot of options in terms of running a variety of air tools. While I probably won't ever run more than two framing nailers at a time, this compressor...
200 psi...I Like it!
The thing I like best about this compressor, is the fact that I will never lose pressure to my nail guns before the motor kicks on again.
With my old compressor I had 125 psi after the motor kicked off, but after a dozen or so shots with my framing nailer, the pressure would drop to around 90 psi, and the motor wouldn't kick on until about 85 psi, so sometimes the nails wouldn't shoot all the way into the wood.
With this compressor, the motor kicks in when the pressure drops to about 160 psi, and since it pressurizes to 200 psi, I get a consistent pressure through my hose, guaranteed. (I run the regulator at 110 psi for framing nailers.)
Also, since the tank pressurizes to 200 psi you get a larger volume of air stored in the tank than other compressors with the same size tank.

I also like the look, the wheels, the relatively quiet operation, 2 air outlets, the extendable handle, and the ball valve drain.
