Moderately Useful
Been using various brands (full-sized and newer compact) pneumatic palm nailers for years. Based on 2 days of use - I don't think that this tool is a substitute. As another reviewer noted - it does not appear to be able to start driving nails straight. If you can get the nail started - then this tool will continue to drive it. I've been able to get it to drive flush with some plates and hangers - when using short nails and cc sinker nails - but have yet to be able to fully drive regular common nails. At $99 for the full kit (from Amazon) - I thought to give one a try - not likely to purchase another.

This tool saved me a lot of time and effort!
The Milwaukee M12 cordless palm Nailer came just a few days after I order it. I had some very tight areas to nail off on my new patio cover which I tied into the house right under the eves. It worked like a charm. I finished what I thougt would take hours with a small hammer in about 1/100 of the time. It took me about 3 to 4 minutes to hammer (1) 8 penny nail with a conventional hammer. I used the palm nailer and finished ths job in which (about 30 nails) in about 1/2 the time it took to nail the orignal one. The area I had to nail had about 8 inches of room. No problem for the palm nailer.

I would recommend it to anyone. It even drove the 16 penny nails I had to nail as well.
Seller was fantastic!
Product was hard to find for the holidays. Sell promised one and it arrived very quickly. As Advertised. Product is kind of gimmicky. Will not drive small nails. They get stuck in tool. Takes some getting used to. I wouldn't plan on building a house with it. The problem is in the part of the tool that holds the nail. The nail gets attracted to the side of the opening instead of the center. You must "steer" the nailer to get the nail driven correctly.

Small size is the only benefit of this nailer
Grip-Rite GRTMP16 Mini Air Nailer

I've just finished building a deck, using this mini-nailer to attach several dozen joist hangers and hurricane straps.

Pros:

- As you can see from the Customer Images, this mini [palm] nailer is so small, it can fit into places a full-sized palm-nailer wouldn't. On this specific deck, there were two situations where only a mini nailer would fit, so I'm glad this tool was available. Size is this tool's advantage over a full-sized palm nailer.

- This tool is very light. Although Grip-Rite doesn't call it a "palm-nailer", the design is a copy of its larger cousins. It's so tiny, "finger-tip" nailer seems about right.

Cons:

- The Grip-Rite is far less powerful than a full-sized palm nailer, which isn't surprising. Small hammers aren't as powerful as large hammers.

As a test, I used it to drive a dozen 14 penny nails (3 5/6" long; .015" diameter), into a 3.5" thick beam of...

Very handy tool, well made.
Very handy, won't replace your nail gun but will drive nails where you can't use a hammer, screw gun, or nail gun. Only short coming was toe nailing, but it more than makes up for that with what it does well. I used it to put up 3/8" soffit under eaves. Looped Mini Air nailer air hose over ladder with nail in it. Positioned soffit, held soffit with one hand and used nailer with other. You can reach out while holding on to ladder and drive nails one handed, so much lighter than nail gun. Worked very well driving nails next to fascia. If I wear it out I will replace it.
I agree completely with Victor Agresti's review
I own a Ridgid full size palm nailer and bought the Grip-Rite Mini nailer because I had to work in some spaces where the full size nailer wouldn't fit. My Ridgid drives all kind of nails, big or small, quickly and surely, but the Ridgid's size is a limitation just like a regular hammer. So, enter the Grip-Rite Mini. It does work, fairly well, on big nails and gets into places the big nailer will not.

My Grip-Rite leaked air, right out of the box, requiring tightening of 3 of the 4 cap screws to get it to stop. After fixing that, it worked fine, within its limitations. Contrary to what the company material says, the Grip-Rite Mini won't drive 16d nails well, if at all. The heads on 16d bright common nails are too large to go into the nose piece (impact socket). The opening in the nose piece is just slightly smaller than the average diameter of those nail heads found in a box of Grip-Rite 16d 3 1/2" bright common nails. Since the Mini wouldn't accept and drive their own...

Palm Nailer Kit
Since nails must be inserted one at a time, this is not the best tool for someone with thousands of a specific type of nail to drive. However, it will serve in place of an array of nail guns for those who must drive a variety of different nails. In addition, it is safer since the nails are driven by successive blows rather than shot out of a gun.

Small finishing nails go in straight and can be driven flush with the wood surface. Countersinking is not possible since the driving blade is too big and leaves a mark, but it is a simple matter to countersink them by hand. The point of each nail is placed exactly where it is supposed to go, so accuracy is very good.

The biggest nails in my shop are serrated barn nails about 8" long, and this tool drove them through a 6x6 treated beam like shoving a knitting needle through styrofoam.

The hammer tip is good for pounding anything you would normally hit with a hammer. It drives wood through my doweling plate fast and I will probably...

This thing is great!
I have always used a framing hammer to nail joist hangers and usually on every job I bang my finger once or twice while trying to hold the hanger/nail and hammer. I used this tool for the first time today and was amazed at how smooth it is. It comes with quite a few different accessories for different types of nails and it comes with an air hose connection. I had to nail one hanger with only 5 1/2" between the hanger and the adjacent wall and the palm nailer handled this easily. I was expecting this tool to be rough on the hands but was surprised at it's smoothness and tons of power. This is a tool I wish I had bought years ago.
Ease of use with prior elbow injury
I am in the midst of building a deck. I and my partner have used this palm nailer from day one of construction. It is easy to use, very controllable.
Without this palm nailer I would have blown my elbow out with a conventional hammer and nails. Each joist hanger took 6 nails
Two hangers per joist=12 nails. 28 joists x 12= 536 + nails in hangers and all went in straight and without hesitation.
To date, this is the best purchase I have made that saves wear and tear on my elbow.
I recommended this for anyone who needs to drive an enormous amount of nails, especially through joist hangers where aim is critical through pre made holes..
