Rol-Air 2 Horsepower 5.3 Gallon Bull Compressor FC2002HBP6
"The Bull" 2 HP, 5.3 gallon cart mounted air compressor has enough power to run
approximatley 1 - 3 roofing guns, 1 - 2
framing guns or 3 - 5 trim/finish guns.
Powerful yet weighs less than 70 pounds.
With so many on offer these days, it is great to have a name you can trust. This item is certainly that and will be a perfect buy. The distributor have added some great touches and this equals great value.

initial problems, outlook unknown.
I bought the HBP6 to use for my home remodel - nailers, including flooring, etc.

Day 2 the unit shut down and tripped the thermal breaker and would not run after resetting.
Phone support helped me diagnose the problem as a piece of assembly debris (small chunk of paint or glue) being stuck in the check valve seat so I was able to clear it myself.

Day 3 another problem, at the same location, the plastic overpressure line exploded from the fitting because it was installed without a metal insert inside the line (only had the ferrule). Phone support said they'd ship me the parts but they didn't ship them overnight, so I had to go rent another compressor for the weekend.

I hope that after this issue is resolved I'll get good service from this unit. But be forewarned.
I try to buy tools that last a long time - that's why I didn't buy a compressor from the big box stores, but I'm not sure my strategy has paid off.

AMAZINGLY HANDY MACHINE
I am 70 years old, and retired. All of my tools are for play, but I do like to buy the best!
I have a very large, and excellent, Quincy 2 stage upright stationary compressor, a very nice 5HP Quincy belt drive, slow speed, 20 gallon portable, an EC-12 Hitachi (getting quite heavy for me to lug around), and a very old Champion (wheelbarrow style).
This little Rol-Air is absolutely perfect for me.
I can lift it if I need to, but in most cases I can roll it instead.
Convenience is what this is all about, and in my opinion this little Rol-Air wins five stars for convenience.
Excellent little compressor
I haven't used it much but so far this seems like an excellent little compressor.

It arrived in a box that had been opened and once inside noticalby repacked. I don't think it was used, however, because the compressor itelf seemed fresh, without nicks or dings.

-It already had oil in it and ready to use.
-Shipping weight is 64 lbs, but it's not nearly that heavy. I weighed it at 55 lbs and it's a fairly easy lift.
-In reality it's not much bigger than the familiar PC pancake. The added size if any comes from the handle and wheels.
-It is very convenient to wheel around, no problem with stairs, etc.
-Build construction seems very solid and durable. It is rated CONTINUOUS DUTY: Good!
-It does NOT come with connectors or a hose. Oddly, the quick connect I installed on the air outlet touches the metal tube for the pump, making me suspect a rattle issue some day, but not so far.
-The On OFF switch is not convenient at all, but is very...

Rol-Air 1.5 HP, 1.5 Gallon Air Compressor FC1500HBP2
With a high air output of 3.6 cubic feet per minute (CFM) at 100 pounds per square inch (PSI), the FC1500HBP2 delivers plenty of pressure for a wide range of applications. The recovery rate is very fast, taking only 18 seconds to reach 100 PSI. Rated at a maximum 145 PSI, the compact and lightweight design makes it a great fit for home, craft, hobby and workshop needs. The FC1500HBP2 also easily handles a framing gun, so it's a good choice for finishing contractors.
The 13.7-amp industrial-grade motor operates at 3,400 RPM, has a low-amp draw and features ball bearings for greater durability. The single-stage pump is well-equipped too, with a cast-iron cylinder, stainless-steel reed valves and the added reliability of splash lubrication to ensure a longer life. A familiar feature on most industrial-grade compressors, splash-lubricated units are outfitted with "flaps" on the bottom of the connecting rods to splash oil around the compressor crankcase. These pumps tend to last a long time, as long as you maintain enough oil in the crankcase.

great compressor
I am a remodeling contractor. I use a compressor a lot. I am very satisfied with this compressor. It is easily moved, not too heavy and has rubber feet so it won't damage floors. It obviously doesn't have a huge tank but its recovery time is VERY quick. It is quieter than an oil free compressor but not as quiet as some of the other oil filled ones I have seen. It runs a trim nailer no problem. I even use it for my framing nailer if I am just doing a couple walls. One more good thing....before I bought this I had a few technical questions. I called ROLAIRE and got a real person on the phone within seconds who was very knowledgeable about their products and compressors in general. He talked to me for several minutes and helped me decide this is the one I needed. I was impressed.

excellent balance
I purchased this to run my air guns on the job site and to replace air in my tires when they get low. It does both of these very well. It seems to be a very good balance between, weight, reliability and performance. The suction cups actually do work well to keep the unit from vibrating around. And as a bonus I am surprised at how quite it runs compared to my oiless compressor I replaced with this unit. Another reason I went with this brand was because it was the portable brand carried and recommended by my local compressor shop.
Small Rol-Air Compressor
Pros: The unit arrived on time per the shipping information in good condition. Well designed unit with motor and compressor integrated within a cowl that directs the fan-driven cooling air. Well-manufactured too. Worked exactly right out of the box, plumbing components good quality and easy to hook up.

Cons: Pretty noisy. More so than I expected, based on reading previous reviews. However, I have only owned one other compressor and it was 50 years old when this one replaced it, so my frame of reference on noise is limited.
With this size tank, the unit comes on a lot. Also, the total weight of 39 lbs sounded light when I read the description. However, it is a heavier than other portable compressors. It is portable and not bad for moving from one place to the next, but not quite as convenient as I expected. If I had it to do over, I think I would get the next larger size tank to get more capacity at the expense of a couple of lbs. If portability was my main...

Built to last
I have had this unit for about a month now and I'm very happy with my purchase. I have used/owned Rol-air products in the past and have always found them to be very well made and reliable. This unit has proven to be no exception. The pump is quick to fill the tanks. Unlike cheaper units the motor is rated for continuous duty and Rol-air uses copper tubing to better dissipate heat. My unit was purchased through Acme Tools - it arrived with a broken pressure gauge for the tank pressure (no affect on operation so I still used the unit). I called them and was very happy with the prompt customer service. The manufacturer shipped a new gauge and it arrived about a week later. Replacement was simple. One item I will replace is the tank drain valves - for some reason Rol-air continues to use the cheap brass screw type valves. Do yourself a favor and swap them out for a stainless steel ball valve assembly, faster to drain the tanks and they never freeze up. I'd give it 5 stars if it...

Heavy Duty
I think Rolair makes the best compressors on the market. I've had this unit for about 18 months now and it has performed flawlessly. When remodeling a house with a few people I put a manifold on it so we could run a floor nailer, 15 gauge nailer, and a framer all at the same time. This did not strain the compressor at all; it kept up just fine. It is the quietest compressor I have ever owned, and probably one of the quietest I have ever used. Rolair makes a good product and I think I am going to purchase one of their larger compressors for my garage. I was also considering the IR twin-stack, but I read about some quality control problems IR was having with their compressors and decided against it. No regrets with the Rolair. I think I have seen this exact same compressor at Mendard's branded as a Masterforce. FYI...Masterforce also places their name on Stabila levels.
It's verry quiet compared to others i've used.
The cheap gauges kind of bug me. But if seems to work well.
I've had several contractor grade compressors fail me after 2-3 months of heavy use. This one looks like it might last the full 2 years of warrenty.
