Quite and powerful
This compressor lives up to the hype. It is very quite, I can carry on a conversation when it is running. It is much quieter than our hoover vacuum. I chose the 1 HP over the 3/4 and 1/2 because I wanted a shorter run time to fill the tank. The compressor can keep up with constant nailing with a brad nailer. The smallish tank does not hold enough air for steady use of a blowgun but the 1hp motor builds pressure fast and allows for short use.

Quiet; light weight; good for small jobs.
I have a larger oil-filled compressor for my shop but needed a replacement for a Senco 1/2HP, 1-gal compressor which gave great service for many years. While looking for a replacement, the reviews and videos indicated this to be very quiet, and light enough to easily carry around for small projects - very true. The larger capacity made for longer intervals between run-times, and the 1HP motor shortened the run times. While not major differences, they were enough to make a change when the greatly increased CFM was figured into the equation - no more waiting for the tank to re-fill. I use this for small jobs with 18-gauge brads and 23-gauge pin nails, and it also works well for cleaning refrigerator coils!. It has been a very satisfactory replacement/addition. It obviously doesn't have the capacity for major production usage; but works great if used within the design parameters.

Quiet, works great, a couple of small problems
Let's start with the bad:
a) I was disappointed that a GMC machine would have alternate language translated into English labels. This to me means it was designed and manufactured NOT in the U.S.A. which is what I would expect from a company the US government just bailed out of bankruptcy.

Things like "Being sure allowance for opening of nothing water rusting evenly" gibberish. Ripped those off - buu bye.

b) One of the legs had suffered an extreme impact. I had to use a large piece of steel and heavy hammer to bend the pipe back into round so I could put the rubber foot on. Better packaging with emphasis of protecting the bottom of the unit would have prevented this shipping damage.

c) The quick connect was the biggest piece of junk ever. Getting it to release is difficult. Getting it to hold the hose connector, difficult. Leaked A LOT unless the hose was perfectly aligned which isn't always easy with a hose filled with 90 lbs of pressure...

Great compressor for the home shop - real quiet too
I love this compressor. Quiet is the first thing you will notice - or at least not notice. It's the lack of pounding sound that you will notice right away. You'll stand there for a second and wonder why you hadn't heard about this unit before? Then you'll try and remember what that old compressor sounded like banging in your ear. Shake yourself out of it and realize life is good now, you made a good choice.

I make a living as an artist, mostly an airbrush artist so I know about quiet compressors. This is not as quiet as my $800 AirForce unit but I would use this in my studio no problem. Instead I use in for all the utility work needed around the studio; nail guns, spray guns, impact wrenches, flat tires and any other item you can hook up and work with air in a shop. I don't know from experience if you could hook up a number of nail guns to this unit at once but I used it to run every air tool to build my studio addition including the Bosch framing nailer. Quietest compressor ever owned. High CFM. No problems.
I did not encounter any of the small problems that Unit 1 had. I use this to blow out my underground sprinkler system. This is the third compressor I have owned for this purpose.

Advantages: small, portable, relatively high air volume output for its size, amazingly quiet.
Disadvantages: none.

Would buy again. Will update this site if/when it ever disappoints me.

Puff Puff, Wiz Wiz
It's a little guy and you would expect it to be pretty much powerless. Not so says I. It is a god awful silver color and does actually say GMC on it. Putting the UGH in ugly aside for the moment, this thing does exactly what it says it can and does it without waking the neighbors after a midnight paint frenzy. Nah you can't use it to paint a car in an hour but who cares. If you buy this your running small paint jobs, nail guns, brad guns, small to medium air tools along with tire chucks and blowing crap out of a corner that the broom and vac wont reach. It is quiet and goes all day if you need it to. It is medium-small so you can take it with you without to much trouble.
Eat your heart out Briggs. Now if they would paint the ugly duckling black and yellow or blue or, well anything other than stark-blinding silver. Oh I think I should mention to all of you perfectionists out there that the welding points where they attached things to the tank are rough. They didn't grind 'em down...

One Quiet Compressor
I selected this using because I was looking for something as quiet as possible with decent airflow. I am into racing offroad RC cars and mainly use it for cleaning them in the garage.

Pros:
This unit is so quiet it is really amazing. It used to be that as soon as I turned on power to my old unit my wife would yell at me to turn it off if she was home. The first time I used this one she only came to see what the noise was once I started blowing air. The air makes more noise than the compressor.
If you are looking for an air compressor for light household duty and quiet is important then this is well worth the extra over a unit from the local hardware store.

Cons:
Mounting of wheels not well thought out. They rubbed on the side of the tank and the mounting bracket is not perpindicular to the bolt where the nut sits. A quick trip to OSH for some nylon washers and nyloc nuts and all was OK.

Wonderful Bargain
This is a terrific value for the money. For one thing, it's a twin-cylinder compressor so it fills up its air tank pretty quickly. And boy is it quiet! I live in an apartment building but I have no hesitation at all in using this compressor at all hours, it's so quiet. On the other hand, it does transmit a good bit of vibration to the floor, so if someone lives below you I would recommend setting it on a couple of solid cement blocks as I have done; this dampens the vibration very nicely.

Now it's true (as other reviewers have pointed out) that the construction is somewhat rough-and-ready (big ugly welds) but that does NOT detract from the overall quality, it just means it's not as pretty as it could be. Also, the wheels are not the very best design for mobility, but hey, considering the incredible bang-for-the-buck you're getting, why complain? Besides, just how much are you going to be moving it around anyway?
