Just what I needed
After a DeWalt device similar to this one repeatedly failed (from fresh out of the package) to work correctly, I bought this to finish a major project that HAD to be completed quickly (installing a new metal roof on our home). This worked flawlessly. The mechanism to secure the drill/driver is easy to use and secures th bits very well. I also really like the built in allen wrench; as long as one has the device, the wrench t tighten the set screws is right in one's hands. The only reason I took a star off is that the shank of the device seems a wee tad flimsy. I am doubtful that it will remain secure for the life of the rest of the device. *shrugs* Still, it lasted through the main task I purchased it for and performed beautifully.

N.B. DeWalt did eventually send a replacement for the faulty device I returned, but it was six weeks after my deadline for completing the project I needed such a device for. Thanks DeWalt. (I didn't ask for a replacement and didn't want it, but...

One of the better brands out there
The Makita quad driver is probably the best brand of drill / driver that I have used. It has the countersinking drill bit end that I prefer over the non-countersinking type like the Kobalt brand sold at Lowes. Heavy duty construction, runs straight and has a quality snap mechanism for reversing the ends. I have never had a problem keeping either the driver tip or drill bit tight and the included allen tip end is always handy. I now use this setup in my impact drivers and the Makita holds up its end of it on these demanding tools. This quad driver really holds up well if they are taken care of.

I have one for each of the drill/drivers and impact guns. I am also ordering a couple spares.
Why should I buy the Makita quick change drill driver bit over Dewalt's model?
1. This bit will fit in the quick change chuck of an impact driver, the Dewalt does not - much to my disapointment
2. This bit will accept not only the Makita reversible drill/driver bits, but will accept the drill driver bits from the Kobalt drill driver bit that you just broke. The Dewalt bit only accepts their bits, which means you have to buy the whole kit.
3. This bit has the allen wrench built into the bottom for changing out bits quickly, whereas the Dewalt uses a seperate allen wrench, assuming you don't lose it.
4. If you work with hardware very much, you can buy this bit and then save up for the self-centering drill/driver set to go with it.Makita 784827-A Quad-Driver 4-Piece Reversible and Self-Centering Pre-Drill, Drive and Countersink Set. Try to find one anywhere else.
